'Bundling' could save £300

Monday, 28 February 2011 11:56 AM

Over a quarter of Brits are missing out on potential savings of £300 by not bundling their home communication services, a new survey claims.

Research by Broadbandchoices.co.uk found 28 per cent of broadband customers do not link their connection in with digital TV or home phone packages, despite the cost saving benefits.

Of these, 40 per cent did not believe it would offer any better value for money, 21 per cent did not think the service would be satisfactory and 16 per cent felt switching would be too much hassle.

However, experts at Broadbandchoices.co.uk say getting all the services from one provider could save householders more than £300 per year.

Michael Phillips, Product Director, said: “The savings from bundling can be huge, as well as the added convenience of having only one bill to pay every month.

“The bundles market is fiercely competitive and providers are doing all they can to improve services and gain more customers; consumers may be surprised what they can get if they just call up and ask.”

Top tips to consider when choosing a bundle include broadband speed, the TV channels on offer and the home phone call package.
