Puppy love: Owners set to spend £41m on their pet Valentines
UK pet owners intend to splash the cash this Valentine’s Day to the tune of £41 million on treats for their furry friends, new research from The Co-operative reveals. Top gifts include flowers, food and clothing.
Counting the cost of pampered pets
Pampered pets who have been over-indulged with food and treats are costing their owners an estimated £21.6m a year in extra vets’ bills. According to a new survey by The Co-operative Group the average pet requires treatment at least twice, to the tune of £222 per visit, because of something it has eaten.

Leeds unveils new cash ISA range
Leeds Building Society has launched a new trio of easy access fixed rate cash ISAs. The one year fixed rate ISA offers a 2.5 per cent return, the two year version pays 2.75 per cent and the three year account pays three per cent. Personal loan rates 'drop 2 per cent'
The average rate of a personal loan has dropped, according to comparison website Moneysupermarket.com. Figures from the site suggest that rates are 2 per cent lower than they were in 2008. |
